Welcome to the next installment of our Uncommon Objects staff/vendor interviews. Please say hello to Van Harrison!

Can you tell us how long you have been at Uncommon Objects, and what attracted you to becoming a vendor here?
I’ve been at Uncommon Objects for 3 years and 4 months. I was attracted to Uncommon Objects because it is, hands down, the best antiques shop in the country, and I wanted to be with the best!
When did you know you wanted to make a living in the antiques world?
It just kind of happened for me. I’ve always been around antiques and vintage stuff. My mother is in the antiques biz. I never truly understood that I could make a real, honest to God living off antiques until 3 years ago.
Do you have an interesting story behind a favorite find?
I’m pretty rare in that I have no attachments to anything I sell! I like the items I sell, but at the end of the day, I could walk away from it all and be happy. I can say, however, the most interesting item I currently have is a taxidermied Jacobs ram. It’s an ancient breed of sheep with four horns…super cool!!
How would you describe your asthetic?
American Industrial and large scale items. I love anything big, bold and beautiful!
